A patient hand,

Birch & Blossom Essentials is a small landscaping studio based in Falkland, BC, at the meeting of the Okanagan and the Shuswap. We work close to home: Falkland, the Spallumcheen valley, and the lakes and acreages between, designing and building outdoor spaces that feel inevitable rather than imposed.

Our work tends toward the natural. River-rock waterfalls fed by hidden pumps. Dry creek beds that thread between native plantings. Gravel paths softened by perennials. Fire pits laid in stone. We don't subscribe to a single style. We listen to the land, the light, and the people who'll be living with the result.

Most projects are designed and built by hand, by Tyler Lynde, owner, designer, and the person you'll be talking to from first quote to final walk-through. We take on a small number of projects each season so each one gets the time it deserves.

A waterfall, three years in mind, six weeks in the making.

Tiered slate cascades, hand-placed boulders, a pebble bed engineered to mute the pump and amplify the water. The owners wanted something that felt like it had always been there, a creek they'd discovered in their own backyard. We sourced stone locally, dug by hand where machines wouldn't fit, and tuned each fall for sound and sight.

Four steps,
no surprises.

Most projects follow this path. Larger builds add a planning phase between the quote and the build, but the spirit is the same. Clear conversation, careful work, no scope creep without a chat first.

Conversation

A phone call or text to talk through the property, the budget, and the dream. No charge, no pressure.

Site Visit & Quote

We walk the property together, take measurements and notes, and return a written quote within 48 hours.

Design & Schedule

Once approved, we lock in a build window, source materials, and share a working sketch for sign-off.

Build & Walk-Through

We build, you visit when you'd like, and we end with a walk-through and care notes for what we planted.
